BK5K Race will be offering a Run for Funds Participation Award again this year.  A 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place award will be given to the qualifying groups that have the highest number of participants at the race.  Note that this is separate from the grants awarded through the BK5K Youth Fund.  Winning organizations may use the funds as needed to support their group. Organization sign-up for Run For Funds will close February 14, 2020.

How does it work?
Every pre-registered runner/walker has the opportunity to choose a qualifying youth organization to dedicate their participation to!  By choosing one of the qualified youth organizations during the pre-registration process, your participation on race day will count toward that organization's overall participation. You do NOT need to be a member of the organization to participate on their behalf!

​The youth organization with the largest number of race participants on race day will win (individuals must participate in the race to be counted, someone that registers but does not participate in the race will not count). Note: Race day registrants will not be counted.  Those who wish to race on behalf of a youth organization must pre-register by May 31st.

Eligibility
  • Organizations must be a nonprofit 501(c)(3) agency (or have a fiscal sponsor) supporting youth 18 and under.
  • Organizations must be located within the geographic boundaries of the eligible school districts (Winona, Lewiston-Altura, Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau, and Cochrane-Fountain City School Districts).

Awards
  • 1st Place - $3,000
  • 2nd Place - $2,000
  • 3rd Place - $1,000

Pre-Qualify
  • The start date for accepting applications is January 6, 2020.
  • Submitted applications will be reviewed and approved after the deadline 2/14/20. Changes cannot be made after registration has opened. 
  • The approved organizations are listed on the participating organizations page, and are options for all 5K race participants to select from during pre-registration.
  • On race day after results are finalized, the organizations that have the most runners/walkers participate will be announced.
